Spraying foam and coatings was once a hand-held application. However, as cost-effective atomization techniques have taken a premium advantage, FANUC has developed new and impressive foam robot technologies.
Many manufacturers have a need for foam robots. They include, but are by no means limited to:
Control can be exerted and programmed into an industrial robot to apply the desired amount of product, efficiently and effortlessly creating quality results.
Foam Spraying Robots
Foam spraying robots such as those found in the M-710iB Series are extremely versatile, allowing them to excel at many different applications including
- Spraying of sound deadener
- Spraying of structural foam - Stiffens the sheet metal
- Spraying of NVH foam – noise vibration harshness foam
Description of a foam spray application: A vehicle is indexed into the cavity foam dispense cell and stopped. Robots equipped with integral 3D vision locate the cavity fill holes. With the vision offset, the robots position the nozzle of a 2-Component Foam Dispensing System into the cavity fill hole.
The robots dispense a fixed amount of material into each cavity
Coating Robots
Coating robots, such as the P-50i Series, and P-250iA series are optimal for usage in limited workspaces to coat appliances, automotive components and other like sized consumer products. The P-50i and P-250iA series can be used for a multitude of applications such as:
- General industrial coating
- Lens coating
- Mask painting
- Chop/gel coating
What about the P-500?
The P-200E system is paint/coat task specific, but its painting capabilities are second to none.
